Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a gold tiger with black stripes and blue tongue and claws walking, his right forepaw holding a red scroll passing in front and over his back and inscribed in gold letters WE SHALL DEFEND.

Symbolism
Scarlet and gold are the colors used to denote Artillery.  The tiger is used to allude to the letters TIGERS to represent the responsibilities and obligations of the organization.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 7 December 1967.
